Ask these UCEMC members to release the report justifying the need for this power line.  Ask them how the proposed routes were selected.  Also, ask them to conduct public hearings about these power lines.

Request that Senator Burks introduce a bill holding UCEMC accountable to the same standards that other governmental organizations are held accountable such as open meetings and open records.  Citizens need to know the basis of the decisions that impact their lives.  Also, suggest placing greater restrictions on the use of eminent domain to confiscate private property.

Voice your concerns to Senator Alexander about the impact of the power lines.  Complain about the lack of time to prepare objections, the failure to notify all residents who would be impacted by new transmission lines, and the refusal to provide a copy of the study justifying the need for a new transmission line.  Discuss with his office the impact to a unique area both in terms of environment and history.  He is also interested in protecting landowner's property rights.
